About Me

My photo
Hi evereyone! My name is Tabi. I am a 28-year-old mother of two who loves anything dealing with fashion or beauty. I have had a love of nails for so long that I cannot even remember when it began. I decided to create this blog because so many people do get their nails done, but don't always realize the importance of being sure that they just look good, but are healthy as well. On this blog I want to make it known to everyone how to take care of your nails at home and afforably. Of course I don't expect you not to see a professional, but I will show you simple maintainance techniques that will have your nails looking there best with or without polish. I will also try to keep you up-to-date on the latest nail trends in the fabulous world of fashion. There will also be tutorials of how to duplicate these trends yourself, for those willing to take the risk. In ending I would just like to say, I hope you all enjoy my blog and are able to get helpful tips and ideas from it as well. Thank you bunches! TABI

Haute Fall Colours

Hello again my friends! It is now time to pull out those chic coats, awesome scarves, and killer boots. Fall is officially here. And along with all of the fabulous styles of clothes and accessories that we see on the runways during fashion week this fall, there is one more element that we can use as an inspiration to complete any look that we may decide to sport this fall. That one staple is a polish in one of this falls “it” colors.
There are many shades to choose from this fall. That means there is a shade out there for every personality or outfit this season. Some of them are making their debuts on the runway for the new season, while others are some of the faves we have had from seasons past. All are fashion worthy.
There are four main types or colors that seem to be very big this year. These are purple, metallic, neutral, and jewel tones. I am going to go into each of these polish choices to help you to decide which is best for you. Enjoy!

Purple
Purple is this seasons must have color. It has replaced black as the staple color for this fall. The good thing about purple is that there are so many shades to choose from, which makes it easy to coordinate it with your wardrobe. Deep, almost black purples, or plums, are very in this season and can be worn day or night, casual or dressy. We are also seeing the jewel toned purples, such as amethyst. Also making it back into the limelight are some shades we have already seen, such as the ever popular gray/violet color, seen in previous seasons.

Heavy Metal
The metallic colors that are being showcased this season are fun, flirty, and chic. They can be dressed down for the office or dressed up for an evening out on the town. It is definitely a look for anyone to try who is looking to make a bold fashion statement without going overboard. They come in gold, silver, and gunmetal tones. Definitely one of my faves for this year.

Neutral
Luxe neutrals are going to be the go to color for everyone, whether you are a bold, risk taker or just laid back and subtle. Many of these shades are in the shades of khakis, army toned neutrals, peachy-beige, greige (gray and beige), gray-sage, taupe, and mushroom/putty colored tones. These can be worn in many different ways with just about and wardrobe choice.

Gemstones
The jewel tones that are being seen this year are a great way to brighten up your fall wardrobe look. With tones such as ruby, sapphire, amethyst, emerald, topaz and more, there are many ways to play with color and still be chic and sophisticated. I love color, so this is right up my alley. Something to remember about using bright colors is to not be shy and have fun with them.

Extra Tidbits
There are also some other polish shades that I would like to mention that are very hot this fall. They are black, gray, gold, red, navy, green, orange, mustard, and cranberry.  You can add as many of these as these as you want to your fall wardrobe to keep it versatile and chic.
There are also some fun finishes that you can use to have an entirely different look with the same color. Of course the classic smooth, shiny finish is always in. But mattes are also big this year. There are many different brands offering polishes in matte finishes. OPI has a collection called Suede that has this very element. I have also found a top coat that will turn any polish you already have into a matte color. It is called Matte Magic by China Glaze and I absolutely love it.
I hope you all enjoy experimenting with these colors and finishes, and have fun in the process. And remember, no matter what, NAIL IT!

Half-Moon Manicure

Hi my friends.Thank you for checking out my blogspot. This is my first official post, so bear with me. : ) I hope you all enjoy it!

The latest trend, hot off of this falls fashion runways, is the half-moon manicure. I absolutely adore it. It can be subtle and sophisticated, or edgy and chic. But before I go on singing its praises, I want to let you know exactly what it is. The half-moon manicure is actually a throwback to the 20's, 30's and 40's era. Celebrities everywhere are sporting it including, Dita Von Teese and Ciara. To get the look you paint the entire nail except for the half-moon shape at the base of your nail. You can even experiment by polishing in two seperate colors, or only polishing only the half-moon itself and leaving the rest of your nails clear or neutral. Now don't be fooled, this is no easy task if you decide to take it on yourself. I haven't even mastered it yet. There are some stickers available for use from different nail suplliers, but I've never tried them, so I cannot say what type of job they do, or if it's worth the money. You could always just use some of the nail tape that is used for french manicures as well. I would think it will achieve the same results and is available at a lot more places. But if you are daring and have some time, give it a try. And for those who would rather get the instant gratification of going to a professional, I'm right there with you. Hey, we all need to be pampered from time to time. ; ))
Below are some ideas of how the end result will look, no matter which way you decide to go. Have fun! And remember to NAIL IT!
